Usually 8 to 24 hours, depending on humidity, temperature and airflow. In a humid Cleveland July it runs longer, so we set air movers and suggest running the air conditioning. Walk on it right away in socks, just not street shoes. Leave the protective blocks under furniture legs, and any paper we placed under upholstered pieces, until the carpet and the furniture are completely dry, so no color transfers.
What people call steam cleaning is hot water extraction, and it is our method. Hot, soft water and a specially formulated cleaning solution are injected deep into the carpet fibers, then powerful suction extracts the deep down dirt, the allergens, the solution and about 95 percent of the moisture. It removes the toughest, deepest dirt safely and gently, and it is the method most carpet manufacturers recommend.
