He used a drone to examine the chimney exterior and a camera for the interior, provided a copy of the inspection video, and presented a range of options for prioritizing the repairs. Local knowledge
Northfield Village homes are compact, and duct and dryer vent cleaning make up most of our work there.
Northfield housing runs to postwar ranches and bungalows with single flue chimneys and original ductwork. Summit County gets less lake effect snow than Lake and Geauga, but the freeze and thaw cycle that cracks crowns and mortar is just as relentless here. The housing runs from century brick in Akron and historic Hudson to 1990s subdivisions in Twinsburg and Stow, so we see unlined clay flues and aging prefab fireplaces in the same day.
We work across the village streets off Route 8 and Ledge Road near the old racetrack, so we know what these homes need and what tends to go wrong in them.
