Local knowledge
Westlake is nearly all prefab fireplaces, and most homeowners do not know those units have a service life.
Westlake housing runs to 1980s to 2000s colonials and cluster homes with prefab fireplaces and long dryer vent runs. The east side sits in the snowbelt and the west side takes the wind straight off Lake Erie, and everywhere in between the temperature crosses freezing dozens of times a winter. Cuyahoga has the oldest housing stock in Northeast Ohio, so century brick with unlined clay flues and 1950s ranches with original ductwork are what we see most.
We work across the subdivisions off Detroit Road, Center Ridge Road and Crocker Road near Crocker Park, so we know what these homes need and what tends to go wrong in them.
