Local knowledge
Middlefield is the far edge of our Geauga route, and wood stove sweeps make up most of our calls there.
Middlefield housing runs to village homes with masonry chimneys and rural farmhouses with wood stoves and coal stoves. Geauga County sits squarely in the snowbelt, and roofs and chimneys here carry heavy snow from November into March while the temperature swings across freezing again and again. Wood heat is common on the township roads, so creosote buildup and liner condition matter more here than anywhere else we work.
We work across the village along Route 87 and Route 608 and the surrounding Amish farms, so we know what these homes need and what tends to go wrong in them.
