Local knowledge
Independence has a lot of well kept homes, and most of our work here is preventive sweeps and inspections.
Independence housing runs to 1950s ranches near the center and 1980s to 2000s colonials with prefab fireplaces on the edges. The east side sits in the snowbelt and the west side takes the wind straight off Lake Erie, and everywhere in between the temperature crosses freezing dozens of times a winter. Cuyahoga has the oldest housing stock in Northeast Ohio, so century brick with unlined clay flues and 1950s ranches with original ductwork are what we see most.
We work across the neighborhoods off Brecksville Road, Rockside Road and Pleasant Valley Road near the town square, so we know what these homes need and what tends to go wrong in them.
